- Would you listen to Delvers LLC again? Why?
- I have listened to this novel twice already and love it because it is very well written and funny. The characters are so well written and fleshed out I actually hate one of the characters which sounds like I’m insulting the writer but it is very high compliment to the strength of writing out fully fleshed out characters in a fully fleshed out world.
- What did you like best about this story?
- The characters. You can have this be a heist novel, a murder mystery, a urban fantasy novel and it will still work with the same characters and humor just tweaked for the new setting.
- Which scene was your favorite?
- Dolos steals the show. He’s like Q from Star Trek the Next generation, he can only be used sparingly but when applied it to devastating effect.
- Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
- I laughed throughout. I’m not going to say I cried in the book’s final scene but it hit me VERY hard.
- Any additional comments?
- This gets better in later installments but the book really slows down when Henry and Jason level up. It was like looking up at a level up screen in an rpg and having each new ability and point allocation explained. It really brought the story to a halt for me and it happened a few times. If this bothers you as well keep in mind that the writer conveys the same information MUCH more better in later books.
