Who knew about this tragic historical event?! Thanks to Ms. Sepatys for bringing it to light with her fiction.
The narrators’ readings were of varying quality. Florian, Albert, and Emilia were effective, but Joana’s narrator sounded like she had a cold; her voice was very nasally through most, but oddly not all, of her delivery. It was distracting. Loved Joana, the character, but the stuffy reading was difficult to ignore.
My 12-year-old is currently reading the print version of this book and enjoying it; the writing and topic have crossover appeal among different age groups and the topic is educational. This makes the book a winner!
