I honestly did not expect to enjoy this book (er, these books) but to my surprise it pulled me in almost right away. The storyline is set in the same post-apocalyptic world as “The Borrowed World” and I can confidently say that, if you enjoyed the books from that series, there’s a 99% chance that you will enjoy these as well. The only thing that made me hesitate at first was that my husband had listened to this before I did and had warned me that there were a few pretty brutal scenes. He was right, there were maybe three sections where I skipped over a half of a chapter or so. Otherwise it wasn’t too bad in that regard.
