Would you listen to Angel of the Abyss again? Why?
I have listened to almost all of Mark Goodwin’s books over the past few months, and I am amazed what a talented author he is. He doesn’t feel the need to include gratuitous sex in his books and the storyline follows pretty closely what the bible says. I got so hooked on the Day of Elijah series that I finished book 2 before this one came out. Made me so happy when this one was finally completed.
What other book might you compare Angel of the Abyss to and why?
All of Mark’s series are very well written and performed. I listen to audible books at bedtime because I have trouble sleeping. I end up falling asleep after a few chapters so I have to keep coming back and relistening to parts of the book. I find the books so exciting that I look forward to bedtime so that I can pick up where I last fell asleep. Hopefully Mark will continue to write series closely aligned with the bible. Makes my study of the word more exciting and alive to me.
What does Kevin Pierce bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Kevin is one of my favorite readers/performers. He separates the characters very well, and makes each one exciting and believable. This is a very large part of enjoying a book, no matter how well it is written. A poor performance ruins the book and I have returned books for this. But his performances are like listening to a live play.
If you could rename Angel of the Abyss, what would you call it?
I wouldn’t change it. Perfect title.
Any additional comments?
Wish Mark would write more books in line with biblical stories….like maybe the book of Daniel in the old testament.
