This book recounts the victory of common sense in U.S, policy towards Israel. I highly recommend for anyone interested in Israel.
The book has four parts:
First, how the author operated as lawyer for Trump’s business and got to know Trump.
Second, his appointment as ambassador and the dealings with Senators during the confirmation process. Illuminating and sometimes amusing.
Third, his clashes with the career staff at the State Department during the early years when Rex Tillerson was still Secretary of State. It’s best part of the book because Friedman usually managed to win.
Fourth, his work with Jared Kushner to bring about the Abraham Accords, Lots of back and forth with the Israeli government and Arab nations in this section.
