Would you listen to This We Will Defend: The Continuing Story of a Family’s Survival again? Why?
I listened to Book 1 twice, “What’s left of my world” and I picked up several things that I didn’t hear the first time. Maybe it’s the audio or that the author C.A. Rudolph is a real writer. He doesn’t spoon feed the reader with what they should believe.
The same with This We will Defend except he did take it up a notch in his writing skills. Often book 1 gets all the good ideas. Book 2 and 3 are predictable. Not with this author.
I will also listen to it again as I wait for book 3. All I do know is it will not be the drama of man with special forces training takes on 140 bad guys. I’ve read That 100 times over.
What was one of the most memorable moments of This We Will Defend: The Continuing Story of a Family’s Survival?
Some people are just bad. They might even hurt there own child. That’s about enough, no spoiler alert. Laura learns this and she has taken a quantum leap in her training.
What does Kevin Pierce bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
That’s easy. I’m not Kevin Pearce. No one is. He reads the story without trying to over due any parts. He is of course the best.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No. I Savior it. 12 hours. That’s 4 X 3 Hour hikes. Often I would back up a few minutes to really get who the characters where.
Any additional comments?
What’s the easy book C A Rudolph could write?? Laura’s dada from the quick decline to current day. He rides up to save the day. Hell I could write that one.
Rudolph wants to bring topics and situations we have not read or listened to many times before. Heck, his main character is a young female.trained yet does some things I wouldn’t approve of like wandering off and not telling anyone. So she is not perfect. Even more interesting.
I have listened to or read 44 books in this genre and this series by C A Rudolph is tied with the the Rwales books I believe
I do not know the author, not being paid for writing this review. This is all honest from the brain and heart.
