While I am not a christian (I am agnostic) I do enjoy this series. I choose not to read this series as indoctrination or born-again Christian literature meant to lure people "into the fold", rather as a compelling plot that happens to follow a group of people that go through these experiences.
From time to time there are some passages that could have been written more eloquently (he said, she said, then he said and she said), but overall the story is very engaging and compelling.
I would definitely buy this series again.
