I really loved this book about the widowed Lady Fieldhurst, her deceased husband’s bothersome mother and brother, and the handsome Bow Street Runner she fancies, even though he is below her station. The characters are interesting and the flirtations between Julia and John had me wanting to see them together. There is a real story here, as well, a mystery, and murders with numerous potential suspects. The story has a number of twists and turns that kept me guessing until the end. The nephews and the dry-humored magistrate are an added source of hilarity and fun. The romantic twist at the end has me eager to listen to the next book.

The narration was excellent. Mr. Froomkin did a wonderful job with the various accents, the English vernacular, and giving all the characters unique voices. The delivery was smooth and seamless.
