This is one of those horror stories that gets under your skin and stays with you weeks (and probably years) after your read it. Author Vincent Zandri has one hell of a sick mind in the best possible way, and narrator Andrew B. Wehrlen brought the story to life with his narration so well, that a few times, he left me holding my breath.
I loved everything about this story, and even though I was nearly screaming at the characters sometimes not to be stupid, I saw later that the author was showing us (the listeners) how human nature and arrogance can get the better of us so often. It’s rare to find a horror novel that also remarks so profoundly on the human condition as this one did.
Bravo. I can’t wait to read more by this author and hope that he uses the same great narrator for his future work. I was provided with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
