My heart hurt for Salem. That was my overwhelming feeling throughout this beautifully written story. Sarah Puckett never ceases to amaze me with her ability to make her character sound vulnerable yet stoic. Arrow starts off just being a total oblivious jerk and poor Salem, apparently not having suffered enough through watching the love of her life with her sister but she decided to hand him whats was left of her poor battered heart and soul to use for his rebound and im not going to lie, this is the first time Jason Clarke actually makes me despise a character. His narration is that good and even better when Arrow realizes how badly he treated Salem. More than a love story, this is the story of Salem’s heart. From self loathing to self worth. My first Saffron Kent book and definitely wont be the last
