This is my first book by Joe Russell, but definitely not the last. I truly enjoyed the fact that this book starts with a camping trip gone wrong. Lots of adventure, lots of internal decision-making based on Scripture (King David) and informed action due to previous experiences. It’s a great thing to see that people get training to learn how to better handle themselves in unfortunate situations after going through something, instead of sticking their heads in the sand, hoping nothing bad will ever happen again. I can’t wait for the next in the series. Having Kevin Pierce do the narration is more than a bonus because looking for something new that he’s narrated is how I found Joe Russell.
