I didn’t see that this was a six book (and counting) series or I probably wouldn’t have given it a shot. But I was about to start a 10 hour drive and I had a free credit so I said why not. Ho. Lee. Crap.

I was not expecting amazing but I got it anyways. As a former MMORPG player this took me back. The way the story is told is very well done and the character developement/depth has you caring about them within the first few chapters. A man and his cat, an intragalactic game of death, and a spastic AI with a foot fetish? Somehow it works, and it works so well. I’ve now finished the series in just a few weeks, that’s how good this is. I drive all day for work and this has been a welcome relief from my music and podcasts, can’t wait to check out more from this author, narrator, and genre in general (had never heard of LitRPG until now).
