I liked the story but at as others have mentioned there are some things that detracts:
The MC is supposed to pass as a teenager but he always (not a single slip of the tongue – *always*… Even when everybody constantly remind him) refers to other’s as “lad”, “young lad”, “young miss”, “child” etc.
It drives me crazy!
Also, I know he’s very busy but he knows that a classmate is going to be killed and he doesn’t spare a single thought as to how that might be prevented? No warning? Nothing?
