This promises to be a good series. The basic plot is strangers that fate has put together due to a massive killer flu.

The characters are interesting 2 males and 2 females and a 9 yr old girl. The one fellow has his act together for the most part the other is the life of the party it seems.

The females one is a bit manipulative but solid otherwise and seems very bright. The other female is a generation Z type and clueless and the most frustrating character ( its all about me type) . The young girl is a prodigy

What makes the story interesting is the interaction. None of these people i could see getting along all that well much less friends. But they band together for safety in numbers and at times the differences cause friction ; Everyone is dealing with grief and loss as well

There is some violence but it is not over the top.
The narrator I have not heard before but he was good.He uses inflection thats varies for the females which makes it easier to associate characters with voices.

This is a series that based on the first book will be a good one

I was given this book to review by the author. My opinions are honest and what I thought and felt while listening
