I loved the continuation of Rain’s single POV paranormal romance with a side of action, danger, and mystery. I was just as emotionally invested in this story as in the stories in the previous two books – both in the romance and the solution to the serial murders/cold cases and helping ghosts find closure or at least banish them. Rain has the unique ability to see and interact with ghosts. He used to be an FBI profiler and now works with a special cold case (paranormal) unit in the Miami police. Danny is a cold case detective and Rain’s boyfriend who lives and works with him. Throughout this story, there is still baggage unpacking to be done by Rain along with trying to get a better handle on his “gift” which is interfering in new and dangerous ways in all aspects of his life. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline as shown through sweet moments, steamy scenes, action, dangerous situations, paranormal beings, loyal friends and family, painful pasts, mystical coincidences, plot twists, snark, and laughs. I love that Rain’s character, despite his unique powers, is self-deprecating, a rule follower and still resents his gift somewhat. In all his messy humanness, he is such a likeable and relatable hero. I will definitely keep reading the series.

Kirt Graves did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.
