I listen to many science-fiction books, including post-apocalyptic ones. This is the first time I’ve listened to a post-apocalyptic book in which the family didn’t get prepared until they were forewarned of the event.

The story is about a typical upper-middle-class American family who are a bit oblivious to politics and lean Christian conservative. I don’t recommend this story if you’re a Leftist and are intolerant of those who lean Christian or conservative.

The characters are well-written. The story’s easy to listen to. I love the detailed information about our sun. It truly is beautiful!

I do have a suggestion for the author. At the time of this review, the pricing is poor for Audible members. The books are being sold for slightly less than our monthly credit amount. We won’t be able to get the full value of our credits if we use our credits to buy the books. Moreover, each book is quite short. Typically, science-fiction authors combine two or three books in a series when each book is short and charge a higher price. In this way, Audible members can truly benefit from being a member. I suggest combining two books into one. My other apocalyptic books are anywhere from 9 to 17 hours long, with 12 to 15 hours being the most common duration.
