This book is a fairly good story of a family caught in a nuclear war. They are spread out across the country, and deal with plane crashes, food shortages, and radiation among other challenges. The story line moves along jumping from character to character with a lot of back story. The characters and situations they encounter are fairly realistic and people act as you’d expect with a few irrational situations. This is really more a story about how people in a family interact in bad times than a disaster novel. The book concludes with several loose ends, so a sequel is possible.
The narration by Andrew Wehrlen is excellent and other than a glaringly mispronounced city name that is correct mid way through the book, it is overall, very well done.
