The Rolland family is flying to their fathers funeral. The whole family seems to be fighting and all of them are in separate parts of the plane. A few hours in, their plane starts falling out of the sky. Something that looks like a bomb falling is seen and next thing they know, they have crash landed. While trying to find each other, they are also running against the clock because radiation fallout is quickly closing in!!
This was a really good read. The plot was fast paced and intense. While it tells the whole struggling to survive in the aftermath of a nuclear bomb, it also focuses on the family drama that is the Rolland family. I liked that we get more than the average struggling to survive story! Character wise, there is quite a few, but all are well written. I liked getting to know them and also finding out about how the family came to be fighting. All are well developed and I hope we see more from them.
In all, this was a quick and entertaining read. I was drawn in from the first page and it held my attention till the end. I look forward to reading more from this author.
Andrew B. Wehrlen did a great job. He is easy to listen to and tells the story well. His inflections and cadences were spot on and he brought the book to life.
I was voluntarily provided this audiobook for free from the author, narrator, or publisher. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.
