In all honesty, this book was on my list to buy. I didn’t need a free copy to convince me to listen or enjoy the book. JCP is one of my favorite m/m authors and this book did not disappoint! I will admit that I was leery of a different narrator as I am certain that Gomez Pugh should narrate everything JCP writes, down to her grocery list. However! Once the book started, I knew there never could have been any one other than Joel Leslie to do this book justice.
I did find some bits of the story to be rather predictable, but I still loved every minute. Most stories in this genre are full of barely legal twink types that are looking for a forever love when they haven’t even had a life yet. I was happy to discover that neither MC could be considered "barely legal". While mature in age, Mark was still young in mind and rather self involved, but honest in his own flaws. Jonathan, on the other hand, is such a sweet character. Self sacrificing and just happy in what he has. He is definitely my favorite. This bit of favoritism was further strengthened with the novelette "Sweet".
I definitely recommend this book.
