This is a sweet love story between a human and an alien. (Who knew alien sex scenes could be so HAWT?!? š„µ) But the āscienceā part of the science fiction has some gaping holes. I can see how the alien implant would let her understand the alien language, but how did it changer her English into the alien language?? I also thought that the competition to win mating permission was sooo un-original and overdone. I did appreciate that consent was something continually communicated before and during sex. The book was very sex positive, which is commendable.
However, the narrator hardly distinguished between character voices at all. And, worse, she mispronounced MULTIPLE words. Thatās pretty inexcusable imo.
So, it was a cute little fluff piece, with a cute love story, but Iām glad it was free, and I donāt know if Iāll spend credits/money for the subsequent books.
