DNF midway through Chapter 2.

Cliched in every way imaginable. Plus, so far rape (by name or not) has been referenced about half a dozen times, which is a BIG turn off for me. First when the brother suggests the women are being kept alive for reasons in the first battle. Then, when the enemy takes her captive and the soldiers talk about a man breaking her and another says, “maybe more than one.” Then when the duke’s daughter’s betroths brings it up, and then when she walks in on her father in the aftermath of raping a child-servant and references when he tried the same with her. And that’s only in a brief chapter and a half! That’s when I gave up. I can see what the author’s idea of fantasy is and I’m 100% not interested. I also didn’t care for how the narrator was speaking. But that’s a preference, not a quality issue.
