I binged the rest of the books, but this one took some effort to really get into, which may have just been burnout from binging. The card system seems like a cool concept, but ended up detracting from the action most of the time. The card characters were… fitting, but… not very interesting. Comedic relief, but Amy Schumer levels of comedy…
Overall a very solid addition to the series. The second half really starts to take off, and hooked me again. This is all a big setup for the next book which will be CRAZY. The tables have turned, or more aptly have been tossed to the side. You won’t want to miss it!
Voice actor is still as good as ever.
