for clarity in about 2/3 of the way through the book but it has been so mediocre that I decided to check the reviews for the rest of the books to see if the story improves, which I almost never do, and sadly it seems as if the series just gets worse.

for this series, the narrator is probably the best part of the book. in an attempt to write something interesting the author has created a very unlikable MC. It honesty feels like there hasn’t been any character growth from the idea of the character we are presented with in book 1, chapter 1. Maybe I’m biased but even then he seemed like a terrible guild leader who only mattered due to a terrible game mechanic that would kill an MMO outside of a book series. (honestly, this series like so many “stuck in an MMO” litrpgs feel like the author has only played a few hours of any MMO and thinks they know how they work, and just throw the worst gameplay mechanics in and act like everyone loves them) The MC ignores Vic all of the time, even though he’s literally a part of the game. There is a thing the character is dealing with that seems to just be an excuse for the author to have him make some of the most ridiculous decisions that ripped me out of the story just asking ….. why?
At times it feels like the author had an idea for a story, then wanted to write a litrpg, so he shelved the original idea but it keeps bleeding into this one.
I’m going to finish this book only because I’ve already spent the credit and it’s not offensively mediocre, but I will not be continue the series.
