Mesmerising performance of a
heartwarming story of good people overcoming bad circumstances. Rarely have I been moved to tears by a fictional work but the death of Pauline and the deep grief that hit her family brought me close.
I was struck by how the characters were so civil in speech and conduct, and how they lived out their values. Grace amidst adversity! Lovely book. Reminds me of Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre.
