Okay, if you’re reading this then you probably already know what happened in the first 5 and I’m just preaching to the crowd, if you haven’t, then you must start with the first. If you’re going to push through a bad position and move forward with this anyway, I love you. Here we go. There’s little I can say without spoiling the fun. There’s little I can compare or relate it to, because the creativity of good portions of this book hit 11; and have no relative comparison that makes sense. Context is what you lose by skipping the first 5 books; and while important, won’t significantly effect enjoying this book. It’s breathtakingly raw humor seasoned with righteous vengeance, and has a “narrator” (in book, not irl…although he and his crew are G.O.A.T. Class) as unhinged as the protagonist (and as well written) as Alex DeLarge from a clockwork orange. Oh yes my pretty’s unhinged; but once again for all the right reasons. And that’s where the creativity shines brighter than Sol. Making you root for characters forced to do things so awful that the lifelong trauma, PTSD, and soul wrenching flashbacks it will bring them is but a pathetic flame next to how much you want to see them succeed. It’s an underdog(undercat?) story that pulls 0 punches and makes you laugh and cry in equal measure. They, will. Not. Break me. My compliments to the author, we don’t deserve such awe. Thank you Matt, thank you.
