The first book was soo good, I think the author is having a hard time capturing that magic again.

This book at least is a true sequel as it does get into what life is like after John, Chris and Eric reunited with their families and settled into a new normal.

Although we know the men have families, we don’t hear from any of them. I think the book could be enriched if the author gave a voice to the kids and spouses that we keep hearing about. I think John’s wife had one line in the entire book.

There were a couple of chapters that just felt like the author was just writing filler. Like he was told he had to turn in a ten page essay and just put in minimal effort.

The ending is left rather open so maybe the author has plans for a fourth book. I am hopeful in book four we will see more interactions with the people around them rather than just the three main characters.
