The authors hook snagged me. The card that made the main characters life miserable ends up having more to offer. The deck building aspect of the story can drag at times. I wish he would use some cards before he adds 12 more so I can keep track of them. The cards and powers are interesting and the world is very unique. The reader of this audiobook should be famous because he is so good! I cared about the characters throughout the story and I can’t wait to listen to more from this author.
