The narrators really ruin it. The FORCED beginning tries to cram in an intro but straight to the world. Then they keep acting like the MC is saying crazy things but at that point he hasn’t made any crazy claims and he hasn’t even freaked out or acted alarmed by appearing in an alternate world? It feels like the author planned our exactly what he wanted to happen but then sloppily wrote in the joining sections that force it all to connect? So it feels jerky and slow because there’s no natural progression or sense of building the story? It feels like it jumps from scene to scene and you missed something in between.. I’ve backed up chapters a couple times because it felt like it skipped ahead.. The Narrators: The feel of the narrators… it’s like an unemployed dude wanted to invent his own dungeons and dragons world based off OLD Japanese rpg video games where the village is surrounded by monsters? But the male narrator sounds so whiny voiced.. then the female narrator sounds like she was like expelled from theatre college but decided to double down on overdoing her vocals? Maybe it’s just a bad recipe…. Also inserting random pre recorded sounds DOESN’T add to the immersion. Finally, overall it’s moving SO PAINFULLY slow.. and the narrators talk slow like they are trying to explain the story to a developmentally delayed 14yr old? I have the story playing at 1.20x and it’s still slow…
