I came to like the characters with all their flaws. It made them feel real. I understand the world that was built and could even accept the lack of clear limitations on the magic system.
However, this story lacks any real antagonists. There’s no Reaver like stakes like there is in Firefly. There is nothing to give closure to. The ending to each of the characters’ story arches felt pointless.
