I’m a fated mates/omegaverse/reverse harem kinda girl, so this plot seemed right up my alley. Considering it’s a bit lengthier than the average fiction audiobook, you’ll certainly get your money’s worth.
But this story doesn’t work. I mentioned liking fated mates stories, but not this kind. The main characters weren’t even physically attracted to each other. They both commented on the other person in a less-than-flattering way before they got together. According to him, she was plain with a braid and big boobs. She said he was chiseled but not attractive.
Suddenly, they’re fated and now they’re beautiful to one another? It’s ridiculous and a really bad message for the more impressionable readers. “I’m ugly and plain until the popular guy comes and rescues me…” Smh.
