If you don’t ask too many questions then it’s a fun story. I like the writing and the characters are good, they are a bit cliche but not unforgivable so. there are a few issues but most I can ignore because it’s fast paced fun. I do have one I have to maon about… lol…. mild spoiler but given the title it’s not really giving away anything, clearly they end up isolated in a snow covered area…obviously lol So the spoiler is that it is in Alaska and they take a float plane out into the wilderness. they have no gear and tell the pilot that they have no camping experience. no Bush pilot would take a man woman and child and drop them off in the most remote part of the state in WINTER knowing they have zero outdoor experience. it would be wildly irresponsible and no one in Alaska would do that.. unless they were crooked and/or paid a lot. so I wish that had been addressed. I have family who has lived out there for decades and they laughed at the idea. They say it’s bad enough with the people who have proper gear and outdoor experience but have never been to Alaska before. Also it is required to have a gun capable of taking down a grizzly or polarbear, which they had hand guns but not long arms. The other major thing …although had no bearing on the plot (pun may or may not be intended) is they are told that the bears are getting ready for hibernation and therefor very active and dangerous when there is already snow on the ground, or will be in the next couple of days. at this point the bears would already be in their dens. it was way late for any grizzly bear to still be out and about and they weren’t close to polar bears (guns still required though in any season). So I wish the author would do more research but it looks like he puts out A LOT of books. this is the second one I read. they are fast and fun but definitely not the great American novel! lol
