The author should find someone else to narrate the book for him. While his voice was pleasant sounding, he made a lot of the characters sound robotic. Colonel Parveen sounded like a talking Asian robot. The mech pilots came across to me as being snobs and I could not stand the play between Chumps and Gore. I did like Gore’s character but could not stand Chumps and Giga. They just came across as being very unlikeable to me. IDK if it was the author’s voice or something else, but I felt my mind wandering while listening. At one point, I gave up on rewinding to listen to what I missed. The plot seemed good but there is just something missing. I didn’t feel a connection with any of the characters. Gore was the only character that I thought was relatable and that is because I thought he was funny. Not a bad book. Jjust okay.
