I found this audiobook disappointing and tedious to listen to. The narrator was good, the problem is the writing. As the storyline played out, it felt quite amatuer/novice/soap-opera, all the behaviors quite out of character with the scenario they were all living in. Megan the main female character is constantly making childish decisions. She’s supposed to be this caring mother, yet she leaves her sick child in the care of a man that everyone (rightfully) distrusts. She trusts the family/people who have been caring for her yet she thinks she’s better of on her own. Wyatt he main male character, an ex-Navy Seal, never manifests the extra-ordinary skills that he would have been well trained in, instead he runs around acting like that skill-set didn’t exist, you’d clearly think he really wasn’t a Seal. I made it through the whole book, hoping it would step-up and get better, it didn’t. I won’t be getting anymore of this series, nor this author.
