The book is a wonderful addition to the discussion of beautiful and appropriate sacred music.
I will edit my remarks on its content as I finish reading (not listening) to this fine book. As for this audio version, I purchased it for someone who might struggle with reading.
Sadly, the narrator makes embarrassing mistakes (Paul VI he interprets as Paul the Eleventh) and who is off the mark with classic names like Richard Wagner and dozens of standard words that he pronounces poorly, showing a lack of basic literary experience.
Not a deal breaker, but uncomfortable at times for a book dedicated to beauty and Western Culture.
