This was a fun romance. Michael Rourke, under the pen name of Christoph Strong, meets Monica Singer, a blogger, at a Houston Romance convention. An instant attraction leads to a night of passion in which Monica asks Michael to call her by her real name, Lauren. But the next morning, Lauren leaves early while Michael sleeps, leaving a note for him. He never sees the note, and leaves thinking she just wanted a one night stand. The problem is, not only is Lauren not Monica Singer (who is actually Lauren’s best friend), she is really romance author Betty Black, an author who is Christoph Strong’s rival. Michael is also trying to keep his true identity hidden because he prefers to write mysteries. Romance erotica has just been a means to an end because there is more money in it than the mysteries. But his publisher has other ideas about boosting sales as in revealing his picture on the internet.

And Lauren has realized that Michael is the man she had a one night stand with 8 years ago and has been in love with ever since. How is she going to tell him that, let alone that she is Betty Black, his nemesis?

Well written and switching between narration by Michael and Lauren, making you wonder what’s going on with the other character when one has multiple chapters from their pov. The characters were fleshed out well, not one dimensional.

And Joel Froomkin was a wonderful narrator, doing all the voices, male and female, along with various accents. He is a great narrator.

This was very enjoyable. My first book by this author, but it won’t be the last.
