To start, narration was perfect, great job as always JTJ!
regarding story:
Pros: unique’ish plot which was entertaining to unpack.
Fantastic main female character, she has a good sense of humor.
The magic system is fairly simple, and combines two main themes in novels like this “cultivation” and “magician”, the first pulls in mana and is primarily melee, the second has a finite pool of mana and is primarily ranged.
cons: Some plot holes and obvious plot armor
the supporting characters are less believable than I would like.
The fights are always ridiculously close calls, and they way they pull through is convenient new skills or scrolls etc.
I still give this full stars though, because I’m being a little more harsh in my review than it deserves, I just think it’s fair to point out anything bad I might have come across. The narration really makes the book shine I promise
