Head Like a Hole reads like an exceptionally good episode of The X-Files or The Twilight Zone. A few times I thought I knew where the story was going, only to have it twist in a way I never could have predicted. This book is an incredible and wild ride. I read the ebook and listened to the audiobook, and they turned out to be very different experiences. Though both are great, I recommend checking out the audiobook if possible. The narrator reminded me of Rod Serling, which added heavily to the Twilight Zone feel of this novel. My only critique is that I think it was a little heavy on the 90’s nostalgia – it was fun but it felt like overkill at times.
