I received this audiobook for free from the author/ narrator / publisher in exchange for an unbiased review.

The synopsis of the book grips your attention with the main event of the book – the terrorist attack at the balloon festival. But that event doesn’t start in the book for a long long time. The book is filled with a lot of backstory for the main character Sean and his childhood and his mother / father and his growing up years etc. I love books that provide a good backstory for character development. But there’s a fine line between good enough and too much. Sadly this book falls on the latter category. There’s just so much backstory that I got bored, waiting for the main story. And most of it was irrelevant anyway. The backstory should’ve been kept short, taking the readers to the main action quicker.

And the narration itself was poor. The audio quality wasn’t great. Probably the equipment or the studio where it was recorded wasn’t up to the task. And the narrator’s narration itself was pretty dry.
