-Story-
Lake monsters, rich eccentrics, beautiful women, enjoyably rough around the edges protagonist, spooky ancient legends, what can I say this book has all the right bits for a book you can easily get into. The only reason its not getting 5 stars instead of the 4 that it received is because while all the parts are enjoyable, at no point did I ever really feel surprised by the book. On the other hand the book really shines when it lets our scrappy protagonist have center light. He is just the right amounts of violent and funny to really endear him to you and have you rooting……..actually lets go with cheering for him instead….I feel dirty now.

-Narration-
Jeffrey Kafer was excellent in his narration. At no point was I ever confused about who was talking and each character given enough time felt distinctive.

TL;DR-
While nothing super original the book is a fun romp with a lake monster and our scallywag protagonist.

-Obligatory Disclaimer-
