Contempt is the 3rd book in the Sin City Salvation Series but can be read as a standalone.
This was my first read and listen by A. Zavarelli but all is can say wowzers, holy moly, what a story and ride i just went on.
Contempt is a dark, edgy, forbidden, second chance, lover conquers all romance will have you at the edge of your seat, and flipping the pages to figure out how the story will end.
I went in completely blind into this one. I was not expecting the darkness, the rawness of this story. It grabbed me from the beginning and I couldn’t let go.
The story line is very complex with Madden and Bianca (Lyric). They met as teens, and life took them on this tumultuous ride throughout their lives. Two people who were fated to be together but the world kept pulling them apart. The emotions, the hardships, the anger, the hate, jealousy, the lies, the deceptions that were thrown their way was just so so heavy. Zavarelli takes you on this intense journey, explaining their love story through a past and present timeline in the book. It’s full of drama, romantic suspense, pain, but it’s also so beautiful, and full of forgiveness. This book isn’t a cookie cutter romance. It’s rough around the edges. And, I loved that finally all became right in their world. But, it didn’t come easy, just proving that love can truly conquer all. The narration done by Stefanie Kay and James Anderson Foster could not have been anymore spot on. The angst, the edge, the emotions in their voices as they portray all the characters was perfect. It couldn’t stop listening.
