I’m about halfway through book two. I read tons of military space ScfFi with tons of pew-pew-pew and menacing alien critters. This has none of that. You might call it pedestrian, since it’s basically the ins-and-outs of buying a freighter and fleshing out the crew, but the characters get a lot of development as well as the story universe they’re placed in. It’s a nice break from the usual blow shit up stories. A palette cleanser of sorts. Perfect for the mind-numbing two hours a day I spend commuting. I’m enjoying the ride.
