I enjoyed this book (the beginning of a series) because of the decent narrative. Plot and character development was good, although I had a hard time keeping all the characters straight. The speed with which the United States becomes corrupted is a bit unrealistic under the circumstances, but not entirely implausible, given some of the corruption we have seen in the recent past. I was intrigued by the group of people who had merged into a corporation to pool resources. The finances they had available seemed a bit of a stretch. But it is fiction, after all, and requires the willing suspension of disbelief. But it was interesting enough to compel me to go on to read books 2 and 3 (and maybe #4 in the future.) As for the narrator, pretty much anything narrated by Kevin Pierce is fantastic, so that gets an A+++.
