This failed on both the romance and the intrigue sides. Any military, Team Titan, or Team Delta operations happen off screen and don’t relate to the story, except for Delta being brought in for dignitary protection. The intrigue and action comes instead from the motorcycle gang side in a ridiculous plot about Adelia, saved from human trafficking and adopted into the life, somehow running afoul of the gangs, and getting on their hit list. Characters from the past books in both the Delta and Titan series make various appearances, but they all think and act like chumps as opposed to the keen former-military operatives they should be. It was a long, dull, convoluted mess until the final two hours when everything too-coincidentally comes together. And this is yet another book where the women from previous books are trotted out to hang with Adelia, but then disappear so that Adelia can face danger alone … which is ridiculous considering Seven in particular is also a daughter from the MC life.

On the romance side, turns out Adelia still has her V card, making for a sweet rather than sassy romance. Her first time is completely unrealistic. Worse, however, is the lack of chemistry and the measly three scenes that have cringey thoughts about how unique and transcendent their get togethers are. 🙄

The Delta series in general has been quite the disappointment. It feels like the author ran out of good ideas after the first few books in the originating Titan series. Other than Titan collections 1 and 2, which give good value and a good time, I wouldn’t recommend these other books, except on sale.
