Really good world. Unfortunately the story focuses too much on fighting between other humans and too little on fighting the elders. It’s the equivalent of Harry Potter still trying to win the house cup in book 7.
The Story of the former emperor going from slave miner to Defeating all the elders and then becoming immortal with his also improving friends would have been a better story.
