Not his best work.

If you haven’t read the first Black Ocean series, read it first. It’s so much better. Also, the author’s Twin soul series is really good.

The main character, Esper is annoying and boring. She doesn’t work well alone. The original series fit her into a group that she complemented. The first four books in this are miserable, because she is not a stand alone character. On the other hand, Wesley Wesley is a side character, and very likeable and entertaining.

Some of the books have kind of a pointless story. It doesn’t make sense for her to even be there. The romantic stuff comes across as cringe.

Overall, I enjoyed this audiobook. If you have read the previous series and can handle a slow start, give it a listen.
