Worst sci-fi I’ve listened to in a long time. Terrible job at characterization, everyone feels flat and one dimensional, with stupid and cringey dialog. There are long stretches of boring descriptions of mundane things or boring exposition dumps, then something that might be interesting gets glossed over in two sentences. This would be a good short story if you cut out 90 percent of the crap. The narration and audio quality are pretty bad too. While the actor is OK for some voices, he can’t do a Scottish accent to save his life, and the audio mixing is awful, going from a whisper to a yell at the drop of a hat.

I don’t understand how there are more books in this series, who bought this and thought they wanted more?
