I’ve long been an admirer of Lily Morton’s writing. Merry Measure is succinct but entirely engaging. She writes the city of Amsterdam, a city I loved visiting, as if it was another character of the story. I appreciate the loveliness of Jack and Arlo as well as their friends and Arlo’s family. In many ways the reader can feel safe inside the story lines and therefore relaxed and open to the next page or chapter.
This story is all the more engaging and lovely because of Joel Leslie’s narration and oral character development. Enjoyed this very much.
