Couple things just were really terrible to me. First the child killing, child castration and child nudity, i felt all these things were unnecessary, gruesome or both. There were better alternatives to all these things, could of just done a pill or beam that made them unable to reproduce, but no you had to have the whole thing of cutting out and remove all the girls’ reproductive organs. The children didn’t need to be forced to stand around nude either its just weird, have them just wear their uniforms, And the killing doesn’t even make any real sense. The aliens are training them to be soldiers, why would you destroy your own resources just because they’re too young and scared.
My second gripe is with the foreshadowing which basically tells you or infers the whole story. I get that there’s a race that can see the future, but they don’t have to reveal the entire story. You could at least be mysterious or vague instead of just coming out and saying every major plot point that will occur through-out the entire series. It’s supposed to be hinted at or subtle, not given specifics about every influential action they’ll take.
The story had a great setting and underdog theme, but just ruined itself for me with all the unneeded emphasis on the horrible treatment of children and lack of mystery.
