this one is a bit of a slow burn. It starts off quite slow and a little monotonous, but as the main character gets settled and is developing in his new reality, it starts getting quite a bit better. if you like the world building books that really build up slow to set the scene, this one is probably great from the start. It leaves off with good implications for future books to be exciting, so I’ll definitely try book 2 and see where it goes.
