Annette Marie is an amazing author, and has only gotten better over time. However, the narration for this doesn’t do it justice. The narrator’s mediocre acting could be overlooked if it weren’t for how nasally her voice is. Seriously, it’s painful to listen to. I wouldn’t recommend listening to it via headphones, definitely cast it, or she’ll leave you feeling like you want to pull your ears off. There are maybe 2 hours during the whole thing where it doesn’t sound like she’s in the midst of a horrible cold. Those are enjoyable.
It’s super disappointing about the narration because the story is really fun.
